Obituary

Deborah L "Deb" Brengle was born in Sturgis, SD, on June 19, 1956, to Helen (Smith) and Gary Brengle. Deb spent most of her early years in the Buffalo, SD, area, graduating from Buffalo High School in 1974.

After high school Deb held various jobs beginning at the Oasis Café in Buffalo, the Red Owl Grocery in Bowman, ND, Lumber Store in Hulett, WY, James Photography in Gillette, , and managed the Horseshoe Bar in Buffalo. Deb also worked for the Harding County Highway Department, operated a scraper for D&S Construction, managed the Buffalo Motel, worked at the Farm Services Agency for several years, and most recently Buffalo Ranch Supply, and sold Avon in Buffalo.

Deb married Sonny Nation on December 13, 2002, after many years together. He passed away in July, 2009.

Deb had a unique outlook on life, at least on the outside. She identified with the "Maxine" cartoons, which were her signature philosophy. Friends looked forward to her "Maxine saying of the day" on Facebook or what message her t-shirt might sport.

Deb was a very colorful and resilient individualist with a kind and generous heart. Her greatest concern was always for those she loved. She spent her life caring for others beginning with her "son" Steve Nation, her parents, and the lights of her life, her granddaughters.

Deb passed away in Sturgis at the home of her cousin, where she was receiving hospice care, on June 17, 2015.

Survivors include her mother, Helen Brengle, Gillette, WY; her son, Steve (Stormi) Nation, Buffalo, SD; granddaughters, Skyler and Sorrell Nation; sister, Terry (Tim) Augare, Anaconda, MT; brother, Shannon (Dawn) Brengle, Gillette; special friend, Quinten Strand; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her father, Gary; her grandparents; and a nephew, Levi Augare.

At her request no services will be held.
