Delbert (Del) Beck passed away peacefully, on Saturday April 4, 2026.
He was born in Huron, South Dakota on August 28, 1932, to Carl and Bernice Beck. He grew up in Huron until he joined the US Army in 1949, in communications, where he served honorably from 1949 to 1952. He went on to join the Army National Guard from 1976 to 1992. He returned to Huron where he met Lucille Johnson, and they were united in marriage in 1952.
He worked various jobs as a salesman, which led him to travel various cities in South Dakota and Minnesota. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and boating with his family. He married Mary Silvernagel in September 1990.
He is survived by his wife, his children, Mike of Huron, Janet (Jim) Rakhshani of St. Cloud, MN, Nancy (Rod) Hornig of Brookings, SD, Rod (Joleen) Beck of Crystal MN, Brandon (Carli) Beck of Spring Hill Tennessee; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, fifteen step-grandchildren; and his siblings, Shirley Flannigan of Fremont NE and Sondra Storbakken of Federal Way, WA.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lucille; three brothers, Melvin, Kenneth, and Ronald; four sisters, Bertha, Louise, Norma, and Maxine; and his nephews, Bruce Beck, Randy Erickson, and John Beck.
His inurnment with military honors will be held on May 29, 2026, at 10:00 am, at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis.
His memorial visitation will take place at 11:00 am, May 29, 2026, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel located at 1235 Junction Avenue in Sturgis.
His memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.
