IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Delbert Leon
Eisenhauer
May 3, 1926 – July 18, 2019
With the heaviest of hearts, we say good-bye, for now, to one of the greatest men a wife, son, brother, family member, or friend could ever ask to know. We miss you Dad, but we'll meet up again later!
Delbert Leon Eisenhauer was born May 3, 1926, in Wallace, NE, to Harry and Truly Eisenhauer. He was the second oldest of seven children: Don, Delbert, Robert, Lloyd, Tom, Howard, and Loren. The family moved from Wallace to Pine Bluffs, WY. Shortly after graduating high school, he followed his older brother Don's lead and joined the Marines.
In 1950, he married Jean L. Jons and they moved to Upton, WY, as Del had been recruited to play town team baseball and work at Pringle Motor Company. While baseball was one of his great loves, he eventually took a full-time position with Pringle's. In the late 70's, Pringle's was destroyed by a fire. He then took a position with the City of Upton as City Superintendent. In the mid 80's, Del and Jean opened the Dairy Del. After retiring from the City, they continued to run the Dairy Del until selling it years later.
Del and Jean raised six boys, Don, Bob, Richard, John, Paul, and Mark. He loved the outdoors and all the adventures it brought. Of course, he enjoyed it best when it involved family and friends.
Del, 93, Upton, WY, died Thursday, July 18, 2019, at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Fort Meade, SD.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jean; and sons, Don, Bob (Donna), Richard, Paul (Samantha), and Mark; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry; mother, Truly; brothers, Don and Robert; and son, John.
A celebration of Del's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 26, 2019, at the Upton Community Center.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at FirstTier Bank - PO Box 560, Upton, Wyoming 87230.
