On the afternoon of November 26, 2019, Denise passed away at her father's house in Townsend, MT. Denise was 44 years old.
Denise McKeown was born in the town of Deadwood, SD on June 29, 1975. She was the first child of Debra Schultz and Patrick McKeown.
The light of her life came when her son, Malcolm Innes, was born on August 7, 2008. Denise and Mike Innes, Malcolm's father, both loved to spend time with Malcom and enjoyed taking Malcolm fishing and teaching Malcolm that fishing does not always equate to catching. When Denise was not spending time with Malcolm, she enjoyed volunteering her time and helping others. Denise was involved with the Methodist Church, was the temporary director for the Senior Center, and worked with the Meals on Wheels program in Sturgis, SD. Denise was also a devoted member of the Kiwanis Club.
Denise is survived by her son, Malcolm Innes; her mother, Debra Schultz; her father, Patrick McKeown; her sister, Amanda (Scott) Flage; her niece, Avery Flage; her paternal grandfather, Louis McKeown; and her stepsister, Yvette (Chris) Schultz. Denise is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Denise was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Irene and Larry Strang; her paternal grandmother, Gail Baum; her stepfather, Steve Schultz; and her stepmother, Linda McKeown.
A private funeral service for family and close friends will be celebrated on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Sturgis United Methodist Church. Due to COVID-19, there will be limited seating available and no social gathering after the service. Please wear a mask.
