Dennis was born to Joseph and Cora (Wilcox) Rottenbucher on October 17, 1959, at Sturgis, SD. He was raised in Sturgis and graduated from Sturgis Brown High School.
He loved the outdoors and going for walks. His greatest love was his motorcycles and going riding when he got a chance. He loved the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and all the people that would stop and see him at his Mom's house.
He loved driving the school bus and talking to the children. He had some great stories that included how the kids would pull his beard to see if it was real.
He also loved his friends and family. You know who you are! He was very excited when he heard he was a great-uncle. He loved to talk to and pick on his great-nephews, Garrett and Wyatt, and his great-niece, Emily.
Dennis Keith "Butcher" Rottenbucher, 59, Sturgis, died January 2, 2019, in Rapid City.
Survivors include his mother, Cora; brother, Carl (Lety) Rottenbucher, El Paso, TX; sister, Ilene (Danny) Plaggemeyer, Sturgis; sister, Ruby Rottenbucher, Fargo, ND; brother, Owen (Kim Bone) Rottenbucher, Sturgis; sister, Mary (Stark) Bryant, Sturgis; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Robert Eugene Rottenbucher; and aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. Inurnment will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Sturgis.
