Dennis Mitchel Taylor, 74, Rapid City, died at Rapid City Regional Hospital on Wednesday, May 14, 2014.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 18, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014, at Lord Of Life Lutheran Church with Rev. Bruce Baum officiating.

Dennis Taylor was born in Scottsville, KY, on June 4, 1939, to Lonnie and Dollie (York) Taylor.

In 1958 he joined the US Air Force and was stationed at Ellsworth AFB where he met and married Donna Muller. In the late 1960's Dennis and Donna raised and showed paint horses traveling much of SD recruiting members for the SD Paint Horse Club until 1999. Dennis worked at the SD cement plant and the last twenty plus years was spent as a powder man until his retirement in 2003.

Dennis loved working outside with the animals and spending time with his family and friends telling many tall tales.

He is survived by his wife Donna, Rapid City, SD; one son, James Taylor, Sturgis, SD; one sister, Toni Chastain, Indianapolis, IN; and one grandson, Mitchel Taylor, Hermosa, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Dollie Taylor; and one son, Mitchel Taylor.
