IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dewayne C.
Tveidt
January 10, 1953 – September 30, 2017
DeWayne C. Tveidt was born January 10, 1953, to Lewis Tveidt and Esther (Hanson) Tveidt. He graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 1971. DeWayne lived and ranched on the family farm near Sturgis in Boulder Canyon and Meade County his entire life.
DeWayne also spent many years with the Meade County Sheriff's office, where he started as a volunteer and then worked part time often doing nights and weekends. This led to many good stories and him attending DCI School in Pierre.
DeWayne enjoyed shooting and hunting, especially yearly deer hunts with friends. His hobbies included designing and modifying equipment to help get the work done around the farm. DeWayne enjoyed history, especially western S.D. history and would attended auctions in search of antiques, a passion he shared with his mother. He also had a love for fast cars, off road vehicles, and pickup trucks.
DeWayne, 64, passed away September 30, 2017, at his home in Sturgis.
DeWayne is survived by his sister, Eileen (Neil) Hodges of Fort Pierre; his niece, Estell (William) Johnson of Towanda, KS; his nephew, Darin (April) Hodges of Pierre, SD; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Esther Tveidt; grandparents, Lena (Spilker) Hanson and Lauritz and Kristiana Tveidt.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
