Diane Joyce Cordova, 77, of Sturgis, SD, died April 18, 2023, at Monument Health Sturgis Senior Care in Sturgis, SD.

Diane was born January 4, 1946, to Jacob and Pauline (Achtziger) Greenwaldt and grew up in Newell, SD, with her four brothers and sisters. In her early years she enjoyed farm life and was always into mischief.

Diane met her husband, Paul Cordova, when she was 17 years old; he was her high school sweetheart, and they were married in 1965. They welcomed a son, Danny, in 1967. She loved being a mother and doting on her children. Diane received computer training skills from Black Hills State University and began working as a secretary at the Ft. Meade VA, where she worked for 32 years.

Diane always had a fiery personality, was extremely generous, and loved her family more than anything. Diane was as strong as they come and even through her many years battling illness and surgeries, she remained positive and ready to fight. She was always joking around with her husband, Paul; friends and family stated they should have their own show with the way they bantered back and forth.

She always enjoyed going up to Deadwood with Paul, watching her 'stories' during the day, and keeping up with all the reality TV shows in the evening! She loved traveling to new places with family; she always said Hawaii was her favorite place she went and wanted to go again someday.

Diane is survived by her husband, Paul Cordova of Sturgis; daughter, Jill Cordova (Nick) of Wisconsin; sisters, Debbie (John) Rasch of Sturgis, and Deloris (Gerald) Keil of Belle Fourche; brother, Ervin (Bev) Greenwaldt of Arizona; and her many nieces, and nephews.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Pauline Greenwaldt, sons, Tommy, Donny, Darian, and Danny Cordova, brother, Harold Greenwaldt.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis with a burial to follow at Bear Butte Cemetery.
