Donald Russell Johannsen, 76, Rapid City, died on Sunday, August 25, 2013, at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Dove Christian Center with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating.

Donald was born on August 8, 1937, to Russell George and Annette (Gross) Johannsen in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Michigan Tech University and began a career as an engineer working in the gun and automotive industries. He married the love of his life, Bonni Carris on November 28, 1984, in Dearborn, Michigan.

Donald enjoyed hunting, shooting, cars, Bible distributions, and jail ministries. He was a member of the Dove Christian Center, Gideon's International, and the Black Hills Corvette Club.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Bonni; sons, Russell (Chris) Johannsen, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and David (Kristy) Carris, Warren, MI; daughters, Jill (Daniel) Robshaw, St. Augustine, FL, and Jenn (Aaron) Dillon, Rapid City, SD; and seven grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Judy Johannsen Stansberry.

A memorial has been established to the Gideon's Memorial Bible Program.
