Donald was born August 26, 1937, to Harley "Smoky" and Maxine (Becker) Schoenberner in Rapid City, SD. He married Marilyn Lane on December 27, 1958, in Rapid City.

Don loved racing and drove stock cars at the Black Hills Speedway for several years. He also supported all of his sons in their motorcycle racing.

Don worked as a motor electrician in his own shop for many years and worked for the Rapid City School District.

Donald G. Schoenberner, 80, Newell, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at the Rapid City Regional Hospice House.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marilyn Schoenberner; children, Deb (Gary) Williams, Todd (Donna), Brian, Dean (Wanda), and Kade (Laurie) Schoenberner; grandchildren, Shauna, Tara, Jess, Les, Lexi, Abbie, Carlee, Danielle, Brianna and Allyna, Remington, Marlee, Kalvin, and Kimber.

Visitation will be Friday, December 1, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Committal services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the Piedmont Cemetery.
