Donita Rae "Dee Dee" Smith, 63, Sturgis, died on Friday, January 31, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis with Pastor Jenene Earl officiating.

Dee Dee was born August 23, 1950, in Glasgow, Montana, to Leonard and Vivian (Bergland) Olsen. She grew up in various places in Montana. On November 1, 1970, she married Gary Holt in Montana, and they later divorced. On August 17, 1995, she married Troy Smith in Sturgis and they enjoyed their life together until his passing on July 3, 2000. Dee Dee enjoyed traveling around the nation with Troy, fishing, Keno, and spending quality time with her family. She was a very strong and patient woman, raising her children almost completely on her own. She was a country girl at heart and loved horses.

Dee Dee is survived by her children, Tom Olsen, Sturgis, Levi (Jill) Holt, Sioux Falls, Gary (Starla) Holt, Sturgis, Vivian (Doug) Maul, Sturgis,
Jennifer (Todd) Sutherland, Rapid City, Aaron (Thea) Holt, Sturgis, and Eric Holt, Colorado; grandchildren, Gunnar Olsen, Tommy Gravatt, Ariel
Hoffman, Zurel Mercadal, Josiah Sanchez, Owen Holt, Lily Holt, Garret Holt, Derik Holt, Miguel Aguilar, Daniel Aguilar, Nicolas Aguilar, Roxanna Aguilar, Timothy Holt, Christopher Sutherland, Sadie Sutherland, Halli Holt, Micah Holt, and Byron Holt; great-grandchildren, Parys Amour,
Landyn Ryder Olsen, and Addison Rose Valdez; two sisters, and three brothers.

Preceding her in death are her parents, grandparents, and five beloved horses.
