Donna Marie Auer, 67, Whitewood, SD, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at her home under hospice care.  At her request, cremation has taken place, and no immediate services are planned.

Donna was born December 8, 1956, at Sturgis, SD to Balthasar "Jack" and Rosalie (Hayes) Hopfinger.  Donna was raised in the Sturgis area, where she graduated from Sturgis Brown High School.  She has lived her life in the northern hills area, having worked at Perkins in Spearfish for over 20 years.

Donna married Michael Auer in Deadwood on February 14, 2003.  She loved her puppy dogs.

Donna is survived by her husband: Michael; children: Jason (Sara) Carter, Kristy (Neal) Drury; brothers: Mike Hopfinger, Dennis Hopfinger; sisters: Mary (Jim) Quizner, Brenda Hopfinger, and Carol Hopfinger.
