Donna Rae Hannah, 85, of Whitewood, SD, died Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Monument Health, Sturgis, SD.

Donna Seymour was born January 20, 1938, to Ray and Gladys Seymour. She Grew up in Dupree, SD.

On February 21, 1953, she married the love of her life, Erwin Hannah. They moved to Lemmon, SD, where Erwin worked road construction and Donna stayed on the farm. In 1964 they built their forever home, from the ground up, in Whitewood, SD. They had five children: Rhonda, Erwin, Jr. (Bud), Ronald, Corrine, and Jolene.

Donna was a very hard worker and sometimes a little OCD! She was a very proud woman and loved decorating her new home, making it just to her liking. The hobby she enjoyed first and foremost was shopping and more shopping – Oh yea, shopping! She also collected angel figurines, porcelain roses and flowers, birds and butterflies.

After the children were grown and on their own Donna worked in housekeeping at Fort Meade VA Hospital. She also worked in their laundry and doing housekeeping for Campbell County Hospital. Donna and Erwin moved to Gillette, WY, for a time while Erwin worked in the oil fields but returned to the Hills to retire.

Dementia took her mind, a horrible disease, robbing her family of so much. She will be kept alive in the memories she gave to those who loved her.

She is survived by her children; Rhonda Quenzer, Whitewood, SD, Bud (Tina) Hannah, Spearfish, SD; sister, Lisa Jo Mason, Gillette, WY; sister-in-law, Gabby Seymour, CA; brothers-in-law, Earl Hannah, Florida, Lou Sperle, Coeur d'Alene, ID. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Erwin; daughters, Corrine Rear and Jolene Bouta; son, Ronald Hannah; her parents and parents-in-law, 6 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 brothers-in-law, and 1 sister-in-law.

We will miss you so much, Mom. We are both happy and sad that you have left on your journey. You are now without pain.
