Doris Holt, 62, of Upton passed away on November 10, 2011 at Weston County Health Services, after a long battle with lung disease. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Upton with Pastor Troy Heidt officiating. Doris Ann Holt was born April 4, 1949 in Martin, South Dakota, the youngest of sixteen siblings, to Fred and Gladys (Jones) Millar. She attended school in South Dakota and graduated from Adams City High School in Commerce City, Colorado. She later attended Beauty School. She married James Holt in Florida. The couple made their home in Hot Springs, South Dakota, where she was employed by Hot Springs Hospital and Nursing Home. The couple divorced in 1985. Survivors are daughter Jennie (Lee) Loberg of Upton, Wyoming; siblings Louise Rowcliffe, Phillip, South Dakota, Paul (Judy) Millar, Raleigh, North Carolina, Patty Jean Walker, Montrose, Colorado, Katherine Peters, Las Vegas, Nevada, Rodney Millar, Hot Springs, South Dakota;brother-in-law Lionel "Mac" McMillan, Edgemont, South Dakota; three grandchildren, Megan Tefertiller, Rapid City, South Dakota,KaileeLoberg, Laramie, Wyoming and Logan Loberg, Upton; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friend, Arlene Loberg of Upton. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Francise Baldwin, Bobby "Zelma" Roger, Betty Washcher, Charles Millar, Ella Mae Reese, Margret McMillan, Frederick "Butch" Millar and Jane Vandekop. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Doris' name to the Upton Ambulance or the Weston County Humane Society.
