Dorothy was born June 14, 1926, to Ray and Alva (Bekken) Horton in Zeona, SD.

Dorothy was a jack of all trades and a master of some!

Whether she was your 1 ^st grade Sunday school teacher or made your (angel food) wedding cake, made sure your car was fixed at Ray's Repair in the 60's or made you the best pizza at the Krust 'n Keg in the late 70's, made your uncles bed at the Fort Meade VA or did the finish work on the cupboards in your kitchen. Dorothy not only raised 4 very successful, willful children, but also found it in her heart to take in many of their friends for a night, a week, for life.

Cousin Ruthie had this to say: "I loved your mom. Dorothy had a very special pioneer spirit of "Can Do". She was one of the toughest but compassionate women I've known and set the bar for honesty, loyalty, and telling things like they are."

"Hugs and prayers for Ray and all the family, Enjoy all the happy memories your mom created. I especially loved watching Ray and Dorothy play together in the Happy Times Band….what a team!!"

As Dad has stated a few times this past month, Dorothy had beautiful black hair. Dad told great-grandchildren McKaela that he chased and had to catch that black hair beauty before all those soldiers came home from the war!!

Dorothy Lucille Oline Edwards, 91, Spearfish, died June 6, 2018 in Spearfish.
