Dorothy Marie Morford, 91, of Sturgis, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, at Spearfish Healthcare. She has gone to be with her Heavenly Father.

Dorothy was born in Valley City, North Dakota, where she grew up on the family farm. She was the daughter of Edwin and Blanche (Wallace) Morford.

Dorothy graduated from Cheyenne River High School in 1954 and went on to graduate from Valley City College in 1958.

Dorothy is survived by her sister, Kay Darlene (Morford) Hanson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Blanche Morford; and her siblings, Lawrence Morford, who died in 2004; Joy (Peightal) Morford, who died in 1995; Alvin Morford, who died in 2013; Kenneth Morford, who died in 2000; Donald Morford, who died in 2015; and Ivan Morford, who died in 2026.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, 11:00 AM at Foothills Community Church in Sturgis.
