Dorothy Agnes (Eaton) Price, died at the Crook County Nursing Home in Sundance, WY, on November 2, 2014, after a lingering illness with Alzheimer's.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014, at 10:00 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, SD, with Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to service. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD.
Dorothy was born at her home near Redelm, SD, on May 5, 1928. She attended grade school at Redelm and graduated from Faith High School in1946. Dorothy attended one year of Teachers College at Spearfish and taught school one year near Hereford. She married Neal Dow and they were the parents of two sons, Arthur (Duffy) and Steve. They lived near Newell before moving to Black Hawk in the early 60's. Dorothy made her living driving a school bus for many years for different school districts. Dorothy survived the Rapid City Flood in June of 1972.
She met the love of her life, Jerry Price, and on April 27, 1974, they were married in Box Elder, SD. Their first home was in Sturgis, SD before moving to Gillette, WY, later moving to Rozet, WY. They purchased a camper and traveled to various areas for Jerry's work. After retirement in 2004, the couple moved to Bensen, AZ, and enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends eventually moving to Newcastle, WY, to be near her son, Duffy.
Dorothy enjoyed making quilts, crocheting, and working in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; sons, Duffy, Newcastle, WY, and Steve, Sheridan, WY; two step-daughters, Shelley Flores, Richmond, WA, and Karlene Price, Lewiston, IA; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Loretta Eaton; brothers, Wesley and Robert; and a sister, Shirley.
