Dorothy Mae Ulrich, 82, passed away, Friday, March 22, 2013 at Sturgis Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be, Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist at 707 7th St in Sturgis with Rev. Harold Holder officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present for 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Dorothy was born, November 6, 1930 to Alonzo and Elizabeth (Marshal) Edington in Louisville, KY. She was raised in Louisville.
On July 2, 1949 Dorothy married Henry Ulrich, a military man who had been stationed near her home in Louisville. They were blessed with five children. Being a military family they traveled extensively and lived in various places including Paris, France and Heilbronn, Germany. After Henry's retirement they moved to Sturgis in 1968.
Dorothy's life was her family and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her much joy.
Leaving to cherish her memory are two sons, Henry (Vicky) Ulrich II of Sturgis, and Herb (Nancy) Ulrich of Sturgis; three daughters, Carol (John) Marvin of Sturgis, Bobbie (Don) Hill of Alvin, TX and Ruth (Larry) Lettau of Sturgis; one brother Harry Edington of Louisville, KY; 19 grandchildren, Dawn Morgan, John Marvin Jr., Melvin Marvin, Toby Marvin, Jessica Abell, Dorothy Marvin, Cindy Bland, Misty Salazar, Jody Stock, Melissa Ulrich, Roy Ulrich, Mariah Ulrich, Kyley Ulrich, Anna Ulrich, Erica Ulrich, Manessa Nash, Betty Bland, Tim Ulrich and Jeanny Ulrich; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, both parents, sister, Betty Roark and daughter-in-law, Connie Ulrich.
A memorial has been established to the Lippold Hospice suite at the Sturgis Regional Hospital.
