Dorthy Dean passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, at Rapid City Hospice House after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Dorthy was born May 13, 1939, to Kenneth "Dutch" Kester and Violet Irene (Waggener) Kester in Chadron, NE.

Dorthy was the third child in a family of 17 brothers and sisters: Violet Holmes (deceased); Delores Waddington (married to Bob) of Lead; Donna Stratton (married to Milton) of Simpsonville, SC; Virginia Hardesty (deceased); Norma Skinner (married to John) of Brent, AL; Kenny Kester (deceased, survived by his wife Phyllis) of Bennett, NC; Dick Kester of Custer; Wayne Kester (married to Margie) of Rapid City; Tom Kester (married to Cornell) of Belle Fourche; Bob Kester (married to Nita) of Custer; Bill Kester (married to Bobbie) of Belle Fourche; Raymond Kester (married to Gloria) of Rapid City; Joe Kester (married to Sharon) of Colstrip, MT; Marilyn Akkerman (married to Dani) of Hemet, CA; and Gary Kester (married to Peggy) of Edgemont.
