IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Douglas "Doug"
Allen Kendall
January 27, 1955 – March 7, 2021
Douglas Allen Kendall, age 66, of Black Hawk, died peacefully surrounded by family at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital on Sunday, March 7, 2021.
Doug was born on January 27, 1955 in Hot Springs, SD to Ramsey and Ardeth (Hicks) Kendall.
He grew up and attended school in Philip, SD, graduating in 1973. He attended Western Dakota Vo Tech, finishing with a degree in electronic technology. Doug apprenticed with Seifert Electric, following with a career at Pitney Bowes, then Fenske Media. He retired May 1, 2020.
Doug "Beastie" was proud to be a founding member of the Sweathog basketball team during high school. They are still famous - ask anyone! He enjoyed pool league, building bird houses, motorcycling, and more recently, driving his Challenger through the beautiful Black Hills, which he loved.
Doug met Donna Christman in 1980 on a blind date at the Sturgis Rally. They married on May 1, 1982 at the Chapel in the Hills. Their daughter, Carlie Beth, was born on December 16, 1985.
Keeping Doug in their fondest memories are his wife, Donna; daughter, Carlie (Nate) Andelt; his two precious grandchildren, Audrey (6) and Lincoln (1 month); his brother, Steve Kendall; his sisters, Karen Hanson and Becky Kendall; sister-in-law, Pam Kendall; and numerous extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramsey and Ardeth Kendall, and his grandparents.
Look around, he is the morning light, the bluest sky, the brightest star . . .
