Douglas R. Crary, 76, of Gillette, WY, son of the late Kendall M. and Marjorie L. (Opheim) Crary died Thursday, April 27, 2023, in Gillette, WY. He was born on February 22, 1947, in Long Beach, California. He graduated from David Starr Jordan High School. He worked at Cole's Market before joining the US Navy in 1966. He was a Naval Corps Corpsman assigned to the U.S. Marine Corps.

His first child, Cheryllynn Crary Turner, was born in 1967. His second marriage brought 2 more children, Cynthia Crary, and Douglas Crary, Jr. He moved his family to Ft. Collins, CO, and was employed at Steele's Market until his retirement. After retirement he moved to Deadwood and worked for Family Thrift.

He married Patty on July 11, 2011, her children became his and they had 12 happy years together before his death.

He loved being outdoors fishing, hunting, and camping. He enjoyed visiting with his children and grandchildren.

Doug is survived by his spouse, Patricia Crary; his five children: Cheryllynn (Ernie) Turner, Cynthia Crary, Doug Crary, Jr., Tonya Fetter, and Tim Kallanberger; brother, Steven (Denise) Crary; ten grandchildren: Alan Turner, Kyla Teat, Tymon Teat, Clara Waddington, Verity Waddington, Seth Hampton, Riley Hampton, Ciara Fenner, Cassidy Fenner, and Cody Fenner.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Kendall M. and Marjorie L. (Opheim) Crary, and granddaughter, Shelby Turner.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Whitewood, SD. Burial will follow with military honors at Whitewood Cemetery in Whitewood, SD.
