Doug was born January 17, 1957, to Robert and Dorothy Kaiser. Doug attended K-12 in Sturgis and completed a semester at Huron College.
He married his high school sweetheart, Linda, on November 12, 1976, at Grace Lutheran Church. Their son, Tyler, was born on July 11, 1992. Doug enjoyed camping and fishing with his family.

Doug excelled in wrestling all through high school and continued coaching AAU wrestling for 20 years. He loved teaching young wrestlers, and his inspiration led many to victory.

Doug also enjoyed playing softball and spent many summers at the ball fields. He and his wife, Linda, played on a co-ed team where they won 2nd place at a U.S.S.S.A. co-ed State Tournament.

Doug made so many friends through his wrestling and softball years. He always had so many stories to tell, and everybody enjoyed listening to them.

Doug's last place of employment was at Owen's Interstate, where he worked until his death.

Doug lost his very courageous battle to cancer on July 5, 2018. He spent his last 5 days in the comfort of the Lippold Hospice Suite in Sturgis.

Doug is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Tyler; his mother, Dorothy Kaiser; brother, Robert (Marilyn) Kaiser; sister, Lydia (John) Salmen; mother-in-law, Marjorie Jutting; two sisters-in-law, Gail (Randy) Greenwaldt and Kathi (Ross) McPherson; two brothers-in-law, Robert (Donna) Jutting and Dan Jutting; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kaiser; sister, Linda Kaiser; niece, Anna Kaiser Westberg; father-in-law, Melvin Jutting; sister-in-law, Nancy Eckhart; and nephews, Jason and Dustin Jutting.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2018, at Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis with Pastor Kris Garlick officiating.
