Douglas Paul Hendricks, 64, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, in his home in Black Hawk, SD.
Doug was born on January 20, 1956, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ, to James and Joann Hendricks. He attended Cortez High School in Phoenix, AZ. In 1992, Doug moved to Pringle, SD. He then moved to Black Hawk, SD, in 2009, where he bought his home.
He was united in marriage on January 31, 2015, to Patricia Roark in Sturgis, SD. They shared 5 years of marriage. Together they lived in Black Hawk, SD.
Doug went to work for Jorgenson Brothers driving an 18-wheeler, and retired in June of 2015.
Doug loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking and riding his Harley throughout the Black Hills. He also loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Patty; his mother, Joann; 4 daughters; 1 son; and 8 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, James; brother, Jimmy; and his sister, Patty.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020, at the First Wesleyan Church, 3040 Marlin Drive, Rapid City, SD, with Pastor Steve Selfridge officiating.
