Obituary

Earland Elmer Rose, 59, left for his favorite beach on May 27, 2015.

Earl was born on May 26, 1956, in Warner Robins, GA, to Robert and Gladys (Bostic) Rose. He grew up in Sturgis, SD, graduating from Brown High School in 1974. He attended Black Hills State College and the University of South Dakota. His son Ryan was born in 1989 from his union with Coreen Papike.

Usually while wearing shades, Earl's passion for fun in the sun led him to be a Terry Peak ski instructor & lifetime skier, and a lover of the ocean, fishing, surfing and beaches worldwide. He was a wheeler and dealer of cool cars, motorcycles, houses and guitars. His creative talents were embodied in his work as an artist, jeweler and carpenter, as well as an irreverent nicknamer of everyone he met.

Earl is survived by his son Ryan Rose, his sister Rolane (Frank) Gengler, his brother Bob (Sharon) Rose, special friend Victoria Sharp, all of Rapid City SD, niece Amelia Rose and nephews Jeff Gengler, Scott Gengler and Thane Rose, not to mention countless friends everywhere.

True to Earl's fun-loving soul, the public is invited to a celebration of his life at the Terry Peak Stewart Lodge on Saturday June 20th starting at 2pm. Musician friends are invited to bring their instruments for a jam, plus additional music, cash bar, food and stories will be shared. As Earl would say, "No Worries!"
