Edith Caroline Falk, 98, Belle Fourche and formerly of Newell, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Judy's Assisted Living in Belle Fourche.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Sean Carney officiating. Inurnment follows at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

A memorial has been established to the Newell Christian Fellowship Church in Newell.

Edith was born July 5, 1914 on the family homestead at Deers Ears, SD, to Loren and Lilly (Fredlund) Eichler. The family moved to Newell so the children could attend the Milberg School. Following graduation from Newell High School, Edith married Ed Fardig. The couple moved to Oregon where Ed worked in the shipyards. They returned to Newell and Edith worked at the grocery store. Following her husbands death she married Harold Falk. They moved to Gillette until 1975 they returned to Newell.

Edith was active in her community. She belonged to a gardening club and card club. She enjoyed family camping, snowmobiling and dancing.

Survivors include her son Robert (Linda) Fardig, Surprise, AZ; one daughter, Patricia (Keith) Rauterkus, Denver, CO; one brother, Ray (Janet) Eichler, Newell; also seven grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, son Milton and daughter JoAnn; brothers, Elmer, Leslie, Robert; sisters, Edna and Ethel.
