Obituary

Ed Bruch, 63, died peacefully May 28, 2014, at his home in Rapid City, SD. He was born January 17, 1951, in Sturgis to Anthony and Justine (Bestgen) Bruch. Ed was employed for many years by Control Data then SCI until he retired several years ago. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family. His hobbies included watching Nascar, drag racing in his Chevelle, and he contributed to many pit crews for stock cars. He also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading, and liked to travel. Ed was looking forward to a family trip to Europe this fall with his siblings and in-laws. His family truly appreciated all the work he put into keeping the Bruch-Bestgen family record book, a job that he thoroughly enjoyed. He liked his siblings, but loved all his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Ed is survived by his brothers and sisters: Joanne (Dean) Harmon, John Bruch (Bonnie Bruch), Betty (Duane) Jorgensen, Bob Bruch, Helen (Duane) Riedlinger, Judy Bruch (Pat Kerrigan), Albert (Holly) Bruch, Nick (Joni) Bruch, and Susan (Bob) Lehrkamp; his nieces and nephews: Connie (Jim) Buckingham, Gary (Monica) Harmon, Janet Short, Vicki (Jason) McDonald, Monica (Pat) Kneip, Greg Harmon, Karina (Josh) Sigman, Sara (Mike) Casteel, Dan (Casey) Harmon, Stein Bruch, Mieke Meyer, Zweit (Scottie) Bruch, Jessie (Nicole) Jorgensen, Andrew (Jessica) Jorgensen, David Tistinic, Rachel Tistinic, Patrick Kerrigan, Rena (Gavin) Woltjer, Tony (Sonja) Bruch, Annie Bruch, Jenny Bruch, Donni Bruch, Kasey (Toby) Tveidt, Courtney (Austin Schlenker) Bruch, Christina (Colin) Key, Mary (Bo) Fowlkes, Jason (Sarah) Lehrkamp, and Sharon (Zach) Peterson; his great-nieces and nephews: Denetta, Nick, and Cody Buckingham, Josh and Kyle Harmon, Alex and Jake Short, Matt, Ally, and Mason McDonald, Riley, Lyle, Norman, Justine, and Katie Sigman, Roy, Charley, Kenny, Henry, Billy, Maria, Maggie, and Millie Casteel, Jess, Halden, and Annie Harmon, Beck and Quinn Bruch, Pearl Justine Meyer, Emma and Kylie Jorgensen, Avery Jorgensen, Emma, Noah, and Ava Woltjer, Aydyn Key, Sophie Tveidt, Jack Fowlkes, Otto Lehrkamp, and Dysen and Bryley Peterson. He is also survived by six aunts and uncles along with numerous cousins and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Justine Bruch; great grandparents, Henry and Agnes (Karrels) Bruch and John and Jessie (Dryer) Bestgen; niece, Mary Harmon; great-niece, Aubry Jorgensen; and several special aunts and uncles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at St. Martin's Chapel, Sturgis, SD, with Fr. Arnold Kari officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Sturgis.

A memorial in Ed's name has been established for St. Martin's Chapel or St. Aloysius Cemetery in Sturgis.
