Obituary

Edwin Stewart was born February 19, 1943, to Edwin and Ruth (Burns) Stewart in Pittsburgh, PA. He married Edith "Rene" Porter on April 29, 1989, in Dayton, OH.
Ed's one love in the Black Hills was Devils Tower and be sure to look out to feel his spirit, mingling with yours, when you are there.
Ed will be loving golf and the Cleveland Indians from heaven, as well as good classical, inspirational, or rock and roll music, (participating in Petra, DeGarmo and Key, Amy Grant, and Michael W. Smith concerts).
Rene's ministries would not have been possible, except for Ed's behind the scenes help and support. Ed was one of the first Key husbands of the United States Marine Corps in Second Marine Air Wing in Cherry Point, NC.
Ed served his country for 4 years in the United States Air Force, stationed in Texas and Arizona. He was a supply guy, working with assimilators, and will be forever honored as a Vietnam Era Veteran.
Ed loved working with the transitional school in Spearfish and appreciated helping out with the Sturgis Public Library and Chamber of Commerce organizations and computer needs. He will always be remembered for his gentle spirit and his wonderful sense of humor.
Edwin Ignatius Porter-Stewart, 76, of Spearfish, died Sunday, May 12, 2019, at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Fort Meade.
Ed will continue to be loved by Rene' over the moon and back again, and cherished by his sisters, Pat, Jane, and Jean, as well as numerous friends, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and golf partners.
