Ed O. Stensaas, Jr., 73, Spearfish, SD, died Saturday, July 22, 2006, at the Spearfish Regional Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 25, 2006, from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday, Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. at the Nemo Church in Nemo, SD, with Pastor Nick Rombough officiating. Burial will follow at the Nemo Cemetery.

Ed was born July 24, 1932, at Red Elm, SD, to Edwin and Johanna (Sundsrud) Stensaas. In 1935, the family moved from Red Elm and finally settled in Black Hawk, SD, in 1940. Ed was married to Francis Kudrna in Greeley, CO, in 1958 and the couple moved to Nemo. They moved to Spearfish in 1985 and have lived there since. Ed loved ranching, horses, and cattle. A memorial has been established.

Survivors include his wife Fran Stensaas, Spearfish, SD; adopted daughter Leslie (Mark) Antonsen; grandson, Ben Antonsen; three sisters, Gloria Walls, Minot, ND, Gladys (Wes) Storm, Rapid City, SD, Goldie (Pete) Prestjohn, Black Hawk, SD; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Barker, Rapid City.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Elmer, Eldon, and Eugene.
