Eleanor Norma Francis, 65, Sturgis, SD died at the Hospice Unit of Sturgis Regional Hospital on Monday, June 19, 2006.

Eleanor was born at Lancaster, PA on April 12, 1941 to Gerald and Eleanor Zielke. Eleanor received her nursing Degree at Lancaster General Hospital in 1963. She worked at Lancaster General Hospital in the ER until 1966, then transfer to ICU and worked ICU until 1970. She was married to Claton "Jack" Francis at Lancaster, PA on January 8, 1966.She and her family moved to Belle Fourche in 1973 and then into Sturgis in 1979. She worked as a Register Nurse at the Sturgis Community Nursing Home in the Massa Unit for 24 years.

Her hobbies included painting landscapes, driving her 1972 MGB, shooting muzzle loading flintlock rifles, knitting, gardening and collecting motorcycles, and bunnies.

Survivors include her husband "Jack" of Sturgis, her mother, Eleanor Zielke of Mt Joy, PA, two children, Beth Francis of Japan and C. Mathew "Matt" Francis of Brunsfeld, TX and one brother, Donald Zielke of York, PA.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1967.

Inurnment will be held in PA at a later date.
