Obituary

Elizabeth Emily Moncrief Hollis Campbell passed from this life on May 4, 2016 in the Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital in Deadwood, SD, to move to her eternal home in Heaven to be with her Savior Jesus Christ forever. Born on her Poppa's small dairy farm in Ruston, LA on February 23, 1918. She lived to the wonderful age of 98. She was the youngest of six children.

Mrs. Campbell is survived by three children: William Dale Hollis and spouse Caren of Waco, TX, John Michael Hollis and spouse Carlon of Austin, TX, and Mary Alice Hollis of Deadwood, SD, who was her mother's devoted caregiver for many years. She is also survived by step son Bruce Campbell and spouse Kathy of Emerson, AR, as well as seven grandchildren: Kathryn Hollis of Los Angeles, CA, Robert Hollis of Houston, TX, Angela Martin of Austin, TX, John Hollis, Jr. of Allen, TX, Billy Hollis of Austin, TX, Byron Ritchie of New Road, LA, and Jeanne Ritchie Weeks of Alexandria, LA. Mrs. Campbell was blessed with several step grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Mrs. Campbell is preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Moncrief of Ruston, LA, her sister and four brothers, her first husband Sercie Dale Hollis (the father of her four children) of Fountain Hill, AR, her youngest child Delores Ann Hollis Ritchie and spouse Michael Ritchie of Monterey, LA, her second husband, John Monroe Campbell of Emerson, AR, her step daughter Nedra Ann Campbell Wynn, and her step daughter-in-law Barbara Campbell.

She was the beloved mother of four children and a wonderful registered nurse for 50 years. At the time of her death, Mrs. Campbell was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lead, SD. Formerly, she had been an active member of Baptist churches in Natchez, MS, First Baptist Church in Springhill, LA and Western Baptist Church in Emerson, AR.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 11:00 am at Western Baptist Church in Emerson, AR with Bro. Tommy Parker officiating.

Mrs. Campbell's remains are being buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Springhill. No graveside services are planned. Memorials may be made to Western Baptist Church in Emerson or First Presbyterian Church in Lead, SD.
