Elizabeth Barbara (Vetter) Loughlin, 93, of Sturgis, SD, died July 13, 2023, at Monument Health Sturgis Care Center.

Elizabeth Barbara Vetter was born May 15, 1930, to Peter and Mary (Burkhard) Vetter in Bison, SD.

In February 1948, she married Lloyd Loughlin and they moved to Whitewood in 1959. Elizabeth cooked at Sedig Nursing Home, and she later worked at Ben Franklin, she baby sat, and she retired from Fort Meade Canteen. She enjoyed camping, fishing, making crafts, tending to her flowers, and decorating cakes with Geraldine Grimsbo.

Elizabeth is survived by her children: Cecilia (Alan) Roberts, of Goodyear, AZ, Elaine Merk, of Sturgis, SD, Carolyn Burnham, of Sturgis, SD, Wanda (Jamie) Hoyt, of Beaverton, OR, Renee (J. Daniel) Schenk, of Spearfish, SD, Delbert Loughlin, of Sturgis, SD; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, children, Sheila, Brenda, Arden, parents, Peter and Mary Vetter, and all her brothers, and sisters.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Whitewood Cemetery.
