We are sad to announce the passing of Elnor Hertel of Sturgis, SD. She passed peacefully at home in her bed on March 6, 2026, at age 96. She is succeeded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. At her request, she desired to be cremated, laid beside her husband, Alfred Hertel, and with no services. Those who wish can visit her at her graveside at Black Hills National Cemetery.
