Elsie Leona Bertsch, 84, Gillette, WY, and formerly of Sturgis, SD, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the Pioneer Manor in Gillette.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church in Sturgis on Monday.

There will be a memorial service in Gillette, WY, at the Pioneer Manor on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 9:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis with Pastor Denzel Nonhof officiating. Burial follows at the Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

Elsie was born April 20, 1926 at Tripp, SD, to Conrad and Paulina (Stoebner) Losing. She married Herbert Bertsch on June 20, 1943 at Menno, SD. On September 17, 1956, Elsie and her family moved to Lead and lived there for 36 years. She then moved to Sturgis in 1992. In November of 2005, Elsie moved to Gillette, WY.

Survivors include her two children and their spouses, Jerome and Vicki Bertsch, Sun City, AZ and Vermona and James Petersen, Gillette, WY. She has three grandchildren and their spouses, Tiffani and Jeff Hockett, Surprise, AZ, Clinton and Jennifer Petersen and Matthew Petersen, all of Gillette, WY. She has four great grandchildren, Justin Hockett, Surprise, AZ, Gavin, Vance and Tayne Petersen, Gillette, WY.

A memorial has been established to the Pioneer Manor in Gillette.
