SPEARFISH | Elsie V. Villone, 92, died Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in Spearfish. Elsie Viola Mitchell was born May 18, 1923 in Sturgis to Albert and Esta (Harmon) Mitchell. On March 24, 1942 she was united in marriage to Frank Villone who was serving in the Civilian Conservation Corps at the time. Frank served in WWII and also as a corpsman in Korea. They were married 67 years and raised six boys. She is survived by her six boys, Jerry (Edie) Villone, San Diego, CA, James (Alice) Villone, Sioux City, IA, Steve (Denise) Villone, Deland, FL, David (Pamela)Villone, Winchester, CT, Daniel Villone, Denver, CO and Tony (Dianne) Villone, San Diego. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Frank, and all of her siblings. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spearfish. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 1 at the church with Reverend Mark Horn presiding. Inurnment will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
