Eric R. Metz, 59, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022, at Monument Health Hospice House in Rapid City.

Eric was the last born in a set of triplets born to Edward L. and Anita R. (Jacobsen) Metz. He enjoyed agate and rock hunting, hunting, fishing, and going for drives in the hills.

He is survived by his brother, Edwin Metz (Mary R. Elliott), of New Underwood, SD; step siblings, Edward Metz, of Black Hawk, SD, Diana James, of California, Alexis Stamper and Troy Carpenter, both of North Carolina, Kathryn Massey, of Rhode Island; stepson, Casey (Samantha) Dawson, of Piedmont; and many nieces and nephews.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anita Metz; sister, Elizabeth; life partner, Sarah (Sally) Dawson; stepdaughter, Jennifer Bench-Bresher, and many friends.

He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
