STURGIS | Erma Werlinger, 93, died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Sturgis Regional Senior Care. Erma was born March 15, 1922 to Conrad and Mary (Schaefer) Rieb. She moved with her family to the Belle Fourche-Nisland area at the age of two from Crook, Colorado. She attended grade and high school in Nisland. In 1944, she was united in marriage to Joseph Werlinger. They moved to the Hills and lived there from 1946 to 1962 until moving to Whitewood. In 1973, they bought their home in Sturgis where they lived since. Erma loved gardening, dance, and pinochle. She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn (Eugene) Derby; a son, Dennis Werlinger; a brother, Jake Rieb; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Erma is preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sons, and seven siblings. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 at LifeSpring Wesleyan Church in Sturgis. Visitation will be Friday, April 17, 2015 at LifeSpring Wesleyan Church at 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Mt. Lawn Cemetery in Lead at 1 p.m.
