Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with refreshments to follow.

Ernestine was born March 28, 1919, to William Earl and Orpha Belle (Collins) Trevillyan in Whitewood, SD. She attended grades 1 - 8 at Empire School near Vale and graduated from Vale High School in 1936.

She married Ormond Leroy Ledyard on December 13, 1940, in Deadwood, SD. They had three children. She and Ormond lived in Deadwood, Lead, and Sturgis most of their lives. She retired from Lead School System where she was employed as a custodian for many years.

Ernestine put in thousands of hours for RSVP and spent most of those volunteer hours at the Sturgis Senior Center. She loved sewing, embroidery, reading, doing word puzzles, baking, cooking, going on outings, and traveling. She walked for exercise until she was 95 ½ years old.

Her favorite thing was spending time with family and friends. Her family will remember her as a very special, kind, caring, and funny person with a great sense of humor. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by two daughters and one son, Sharon Burd, Sturgis, SD, BJ Callahan, Windsor, CO, and Ed (Carol) Ledyard, Spearfish, SD; brothers, Jim Trevillyan, Rapid City, SD, and Elmer Trevillyan, National City, CA; sister-in-law, Doreen Trevillyan, Mesa, AZ; five grandchildren, Lesley, Sidney, Penny, Paige, and Patti Jo; eight great-grandchildren, KW, Jerrod, Andrea, Jordan, Aiden, Case, Max, and Ian; two great-great-grandchildren, Katie and Sage; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ormond Ledyard; her parents, Bill and Orpha Trevillyan; brother and his wife, Ralph and Marge Trevillyan and their son and daughter, Tod and Eileen; sister-in-law, Edna Trevillyan; and two son-in-laws, Kenneth Burd and Daniel Callahan.
