Ernie L. Schutterle, 72, Sturgis, SD, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Ernie was born April 13, 1934 at Gettysburg, SD to Bert and Taddie (Anderson) Schutterle.

Survivors include his wife Frances Schutterle, Sturgis, SD; two sons, James Schutterle, Rapid City, SD, Steven Verdugt, Colorado Springs, CO; two daughters, Teresa Schutterle, Deadwood, SD, Deanna Verdugt, Sturgis; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many friends who were very dear to him in life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Dorothy.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Mr. Del Ripley officiating. Burial will follow at the Bear Butte Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association.
