Errol Dee Johnson, 59, Sturgis, SD, died June 6, 2006, at his residence near Sturgis.

Errol was born August 19, 1946, at Burwell, NE, to Harold and Arlene (Hoppes) Johnson. He attended Jr. and Sr. High School in Grand Island, NE. After high school, Errol joined the US Army on February 14, 1964 and served a tour in Vietnam. Errol received his honorable discharge on April 3, 1969.
He returned to Grand Island and worked at a dairy plant loading and unloading trucks. In 1996, Errol moved to the Black Hills area to live with his sister.Errol was a lifetime member of the VFW. He really enjoyed collecting model cars and reading automobile magazines.
A memorial has been established to the Ft. Meade Hospice program.

Survivors include his sister, Lael Lukesh and her husband, Doug, Sturgis, SD; one brother, Kerry Johnson, Albuquerque, NM; and two nephews, Jonathan and Aaron Lukesh, Sturgis, SD.He was preceded in death by his parents.
