Ervin was born August 28, 1942, at Mobridge, SD, to Adolph and Martha (Dewald) Huber. He was the youngest son of seven children.

He grew up in Mobridge and met his future wife in Lemmon, SD. On November 2, 1964, he married Delores Hermann.

Early in the marriage, he worked for his father in Mobridge and various other jobs. They moved to Denver, CO, in 1965 for two years. They finally made their home in Sturgis, SD, where he worked for Homestake Mining Company for 29 years. Later, he worked for the City of Sturgis Public Works Department for approximately 15 years.

Ervin was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served in many leadership roles including maintenance. He was always willing to help others and the church for whatever was needed.

He was loved by his family and friends and his sudden passing was unexpected as he was a strong and active man.

Ervin L. Huber, 73, Sturgis, continued his everlasting journey, Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Remaining family includes his wife, Delores "Dee" Huber; children, Scott (Margaret) Huber, Portland, OR, Mike Huber, Sturgis, Sonja (Dalton) Peacock, Rapid City, SD, and Melissa (Loren) Ditsch, Omaha, NE; six grandchildren, Sarah Wallach, Noelle Huber, Erin, Aidan, and Collin Peacock, and Valerie Ditsch; three brothers, Calvin, Raymond, and Lyle Huber; and three sisters, Ramona Saputa, Shirley Huber, and Lorraine Stulken.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis. Burial will follow at Bear Butte Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
