Obituary

Georgean Jaeger was born on January 8, 1927 in Geddes, SD to George and Mary (Klein) Mushitz. She attended and graduated high school in Geddes, SD. After graduation, she attended college in Yankton, SD, where she earned her teacher's certificate.
Georgean met the love of her life, Cletus Wilfred Jaeger, and they were married in June of 1946 in Geddes, SD. She began teaching school at a one-room school and taught school in various towns, as Georgean and Cletus moved a lot due to Cletus being in the Navy. Together, she and Cletus had six children. While living in Miami, FL, Georgean worked at a department store and later as a claims adjuster for GEICO Insurance. Georgean enjoyed going to the beach with the family. While the kids were swimming in the ocean, she would be on the search for sea shells.
Cletus and Georgean retired to the Black Hills during the Fall of 1981. They began building their dream home, designed by Cletus, in 1982. They loved having family visit, and family and friends were always welcomed at their home. Georgean enjoyed going on rides in the Black Hills and having a picnic lunch. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. As a result of her love for cooking, all of her children are excellent cooks as well. A couple of her favorite meals were curried crab, and egg rolls with fried rice. She enjoyed telling stories about her upbringing, all the places where she lived, and funny stories to make people laugh.
Ethel "Georgean" Jaeger, 93, of Rapid City, SD, died Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.
Georgean was loved and will be missed by her children, David Jaeger of Rapid City, Cletus and Lisa (DiMaio) Jaeger of Horseshoe Beach, FL, Coletta Jaeger of Estherville, IA, and John Jaeger of Rapid City; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
