Ethel "Jean" Reid, 75, Belle Fourche, had spent several years battling cancer, losing her battle on Friday, January 9, 2009, in her home.
Graveside rites will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche, Bonnie Ballou officiating.
Jean was born December 9, 1933, to Lawrence S. and Beatrice G. (Clem) Nelson. She attended school in Belle Fourche and worked with her mother in the John Burns Hospital. Jean married Wayne J. Kenstler. To this union, Todd and Jedd Kenstler were born. They later divorced and Jean married Harvey Reid.
Jean spent several years working at Hantz Café in Belle Fourche, making great tasting buns every morning. Jean quit working to take care of her mother.
Jean was a fun loving person who loved living, walking, putting puzzles together, and playing checkers and bingo with the kids, family, and friends. Jean had a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile for everyone she met.
Jean is survived by her oldest son, Todd W. Kenstler, Belle Fourche; seven grandchildren, Jacey Kenstler, Sturgis, Steven and Chance Kenstler, Belle Fourche, Robert Kenstler, Fort Sill, OK, Micheal Milledge, Belle Fourche, Andy Kenstler, Newell, and Jill and Lance McTaggert, Bison, SD; and four great-grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by both parents; her husband; one brother, Carl; one sister, Alta Jones; her son, Jedd; and one grandson, Kyle.
