Ethel Leola Wulff, 87, Spearfish, S.D., died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007 at the Spearfish Regional Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 30 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Keith Nelson officiating. Burial was at the Pine Lawn Cemetery near Rapid City.
Ethel was born December 1, 1919 at Miller, S.D., to Maurice and Beulah (Parsons) Hancock. She attended grade school at Okobojo for eight years and attended high school in Miller and Onida. After completing her education she worked on area ranches as a housekeeper until her marriage to Clarence "Bullet" Wulff at Brookings, S.D., on June 3, 1940. The marriage produced three sons.
On September 3, 1957 she married Alfred Wulff at Rexburg, Idaho.
Alfred's job in mining and heavy equipment moved the family to Wyoming, Missouri, Colorado and New Mexico before they retired in 1985 to Sturgis, S.D. Ethel enjoyed moving to different areas of the country to meet so many people and see so many different things. They lived in Sturgis until 2002, when they moved to Spearfish.
Ethel loved to bake, cook and sew. She enjoyed making quilts, afghans and crocheting gifts for family.
Survivors include her husband Alfred, Spearfish; sons Robert (Berdie) Wulff, Dayton, Wyo. and Ken (Elaine) Wulff, Gann Valley; one daughter-in-law, Evelyn Wulff, Kimball; and one brother, Warren Hancock, Billings, Mont.
She was preceded in death by her son Kermit; three sisters and two brothers; and one grandson.
A memorial has been established to a local cancer fund.
