Funeral services will be offered for Eva E. Neuheisel Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis with Pastor David Baer officiating. Burial follows at the Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

Eva E. Neuheisel, 88, Sturgis, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 at the Sturgis Regional Hospital.

Eva was born Nov. 7, 1918 at Oakdale, Neb., to William and Elsie (Pugh) Nordeen. She grew up in Oakdale until the death of her father and younger brother. Eva and her mother moved to Fairpoint when she was 9 years-old.

She married Delore Grandpre at Belle Fourche on June 30, 1939. The couple lived on the Grandpre Ranch near Govert, S.D. They moved to the Sherwood ranch near Paradise Flat, N.D. for some years until moving back to the Grandpre Ranch. They returned to Paradise Flat after purchasing their own ranch and lived there until they sold it in 1968. They moved to McIntosh, S.D. After Delore's death in June of 1973, Eva remained in McIntosh briefly.

Eva married William Neuheisel at Vale, S.D., in June of 1980. In 1982 they moved to Sturgis.

Eva was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and the Ruth Circle in Sturgis. She was a member of the Sturgis Hospital Auxiliary and the Meade County Senior Citizens and the Homemakers Extension Club.

Survivors include her two sons; four daughters; three brothers; one sister; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, one son, Billy, one brother, Frankie Nordeen, two grandsons, one granddaughter, one great granddaughter.

A memorial has been established to the Grace Lutheran Church and the Hospice of the Northern Hills.
