Evelyn R. Albrecht 80 of Spearfish passed away Friday, October 9, 2009 at a local nursing home.

A memorial service will be 10:00am Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Edgewood Vista Living Center at 540 Falcon Crest Drive in Spearfish, SD. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Black Hills National Cemetery.

Evelyn was born December 31, 1928 to Etna and Lizzie Hague in Highmore, SD. After graduation from high school she married Harry Volek on January 30, 1949. Together they had four wonderful
children; Alice, Larry, Mike, and Susan. Evelyn worked hard on the farm along side her family for many years. After the death of Harry Volek, she continued to live on the farm and manage the farm for five more years. Evelyn then went on to Beauty School and worked as a Beautician in Aberdeen, SD. Evelyn was one of the lucky ones and found love a second time and married William (Fred) Albrecht. They lived in Washington DC until they retired to Spearfish, SD in 1996.

Evelyn was known best for her colorful shoes as well as her chicken and nutcracker collections. She was loved by all and by her extended family at Edgewood Vista.

Those blessed to have shared in her life are her four children Alice (Randy) Wright of Pierre, SD; Larry (Beverly) Volek of Olathe, KS; Mike (Dixie) Volek of Highmore, SD; and Susan (John)
Reiffenberger of Sturgis, SD. Evelyn had eight grandchildren Ross and fianc Pamela Bartine, Jess Wright, Christine (Volek) Kosters, David Volek, Shanda and Sherise Volek, Matthew Reiffenberger,
and Sara (Reiffenberger) Studer, seven great grandchildren, three sisters Jessie Swanson of Beaverton, OR; Mildred Merriman of Mitchell, SD; June Regan of Spearfish, SD.

She was preceded in death by husbands Harry Volek, and Fred Albrecht, 2 brothers Donald, and Doug Hague, and parents.

In lieu flowers a memorial can be made to the Hospice of the Northern Hills in Evelyns name.
