Evelyn Agnes Beug was born December 31, 1922 in the Bear Butte Valley area east of Sturgis, to Arthur and Clara "Lola" (Thein) Bachand. She attended volunteer School through the 8th grade and completed her schooling at Sturgis High School.

She married Dan Beug in Wyoming and the couple farmed and ranched on Alkali for many years.

Evelyn was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, #36 Bernice of the Rebekah Lodge. She was also a past assembly president of the South Dakota Rebekahs and the ladies auxiliary patriarchs militant. She was a charter member of the Western Dakota Antique Club and member of the Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Alkali Community Club, life member of the Sturgis Senior Citizen and member of the Alkali Busy Bee Extension Club.

Evelyn Agnes Beug, 92, Sturgis, died Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Rapid City Regional Hospice House.

Survivors include her sons, Jerry Beug, Sturgis, LaVere (Linda) Beug, Vancouver, WA, Harvey (Lola) Beug, Sturgis; sisters, Joyce Evans, Shelbyville, TN, Shirley (Alan) Bain, Deer Park, WA; also six grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren and 2 great - great - grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, one brother, one son, one grandson.

Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. on Monday evening at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis with Pastor Henrique Fleming officiating. Burial follows at the Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

Memorials have been established to the Western Dakota Antique Club and the Meade County Senior Center.
