Obituary

Evelyn Frances Murray, 81, Black Hawk, died Monday, July 28, 2008, at her residence.

Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and will resume Friday one hour prior to the services at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2008, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Pastor Howie Baird officiating. Burial will be Monday, August 4, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Evelyn was born June 16, 1927, in Dell Rapids, SD, to George and Anna (Satthoff) Gleeck. She graduated from Edgemont High School in 1946. Her first job was at the Iris Theatre in Edgemont. She later worked at the Edgemont Bakery. Evelyn married Michael A. Murray in Edgemont on September 1, 1961. Evelyn worked various jobs throughout her life, but mostly was a homemaker and mom. She retired in 1991 as co-manager from the Meadowlark Trailer Park.

Survivors include one son, Gregory (Deborah) Borton, Black Hawk; three daughters, Jean Nasabal, Glendora, CA, Linda (John) Gatz, Ankeny, IA, and Kim (John) Bower, Lawton, MI; one sister, Esther Miller, Edgemont; nine grandchildren, Stephanie Abshire, Stephan Sands, Chris, Anthony, Jason, and Jacob Borton, and Michel, Joshua, and Caleb Bower; four great-grandchildren, Brandi Abshire, Brittanie Abshire, Lacey Sands, and Audrey Borton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, George Gleeck and Henry Gleeck.

A memorial has been established to the Youth Group of the Grace United Methodist Church in Piedmont.
