Fern was born August 8, 1939, in Faith, SD, to Ray and Dolly (Hart) Hughes. They lived in Plainview, SD, until 1942 when they moved to Sturgis. Fern graduated from Sturgis High School in 1958.

Fern married Don Goff on February 5, 1957, and they had five children: Ronald, Bart, Dan, Berniece, and Wesley.

She married Vern Blow in June of 1979 and they moved to Utah and then to Arizona where she lived until 1999 when, for health reasons, moved back to South Dakota. Fern lived with Berniece for a year and has been in the health care system until her passing.

Fern Ellen Blow, 76, Sturgis, died Friday, April 8, 2016, at Sturgis Regional Senior Care.

Survivors include her children, Berniece (Tom) Duprel, Sturgis, Bart Goff, Mammoth, AZ, Ron Goff, Texas, and Wesley Goff, Sioux Falls, SD; one sister, Ruby Williamson, Rapid City; eight grandchildren, Joe (Lindsey) Duprel, Jake (Marissa) Duprel, Vanessa Goff, Seth Goff, Jennifer Goff, Donny Nequette, Elizabeth Goff, and Theresa Nequette; ten great-grandchildren, Lane Duprel, Colt Duprel, Meghan Duprel, Abby Duprel, Quinn Steve, Alana Steve, Kierra Nequette, Aiden Nequette, Hayley Wide, and Joey Wide; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, April 11, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the Meade County Senior Center.
