Florence Christine Sulzbach, 82, Newell, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at the Sturgis Community Long Term Care Center.

Visitation was 8 a.m. to 9 p.m, Thursday, at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, and hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

Funeral Services were 10 a.m,. Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis. Burial followed at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Florence was born July 29, 1923, at Chamberlain, to Ed and Mayme (Krebs) Spring. She moved to Alliance as a child and graduated from Saint Agnes Academy.

She married Richard Sulzbach at Alliance, Neb., on June 22, 1947. The couple moved to Vale in 1961, and farmed until retiring in 1999 when they moved to Newell.

Florence worked at the Sturgis Regional Hospital in housekeeping for many years. She also waitressed and managed the Newell Café for many years.

She loved raising her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and embroidered.

Survivors include her husband, four sons, one daughter and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
