Frances L. "Frankie" Latham passed away from her battle with cancer on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Belle Fourche Healthcare. She was born on January 15, 1943 in El Reno, OK. She was raised on a ranch west of Camp Crook SD. where she rode race horses and competed in rodeos all over the area. She attended Tie Creek country school through 8th grade, went to Baker, MT for one year of high School, St Martin's Academy for the last three years. After graduating high school, she went to Black Hills Teachers College in Spearfish. Frankie married Neil Latham on January 10, 1966 and to this marriage came Julia, Lori and Bob. Frankie loved to sing and was always singing at weddings, funerals, the National Anthem at rodeos and just about any time the mood struck her. Frankie and Neil loved to dance and could be found at all the country dances having a great time! Frankie did not know a stranger. If she did not know you she would change that quickly. She had many friends from all over the country. Frankie had an electric personality that was hard to forget. No matter where you were, you could always hear her distinctive giggle. Frankie taught school at Sky Ranch and several country schools in the area. She was a cook at several places but the Oasis was her favorite. Many people would go just to visit with Frankie and eat her awesome cooking. Frankie also was a "Grandma" at the Harding Co. School and in Spearfish, she loved reading with the little kids and just being there with them. Frankie is survived by her daughters, Julia (Doug) Davis and Lori (Darren) Buck, Camp Crook; son, Bob (Joni) Latham, Sundance WY; sisters, Charlotte Osborne, Vicki (Stan) Parrish and Donna Mahaffey; sister-in-law, Shirley Latham and sister in Love, Bonnie Bowers; her beloved grandchildren, Jamie (Audrey) Lubken, Josh Lubken ( Nikki Humphrey) and Lindy (Jason) Watt all of Gillette WY, Lita Newman (Travis Eddy), Sundance WY, Jake (Callie) Davis, Belle Fourche, Travis (Amanda) Davis, Madison AL, Dalton Latham (Kelsie Brumley), Fort Collins CO, and McKenzie Buck, Mattie Buck and Morgan Buck, Camp Crook; her beloved great grandchildren, Tariq, Lincoln and Laney Lubken, Spencer Lubken, Charli, Tatum and Tinley Watt, Keaton and Kellan Davis and along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many dear friends and partners in crime. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bus and Gladys Allan; her husband, Neil Latham; brothers in law, Erwin Latham and John R Olson; and sister In law, Marilyn Olson. A Christian Wake Service will be 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 11 at St Paul's Catholic Church in Belle Fourche, SD. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the church with Rev. Mark Horn presiding. Inurnment will follow at 1:30 pm at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
